Alicia McElhill
Alicia is an experienced leader with a track record of effective school improvement. Alicia began her work in the Trust at Lancaster Academy where she played a key role in their rapid improvement journey. In addition to an interim post as Principal at one of our Primary Academies, Alicia was responsible for setting up and running a number of Trust-wide hubs, embedding evidenced based best practice and establishing a coaching model in multiple schools. She has been seconded to SWHS to provide the capacity for rapid improvement.

Amanda DohertyVice Principal - Quality of Education
Amanda Doherty
Amanda is a highly experienced senior leader with a proven track record as an academic and pastoral leader. She has significant experience of bringing about improvement in schools in challenging circumstances. In addition to her expertise as a pastoral and curriculum leader, Amanda is passionate about the performing arts, and as a member of the Disney Theatrical Advisory board, she has strong links in the industry. Amanda’s broad experience and extensive links in education and beyond mean that she is ideally placed to help SWHS develop an inspiring curriculum for our pupils.

Ashley EllerbyVice Principal - Culture & Climate
Ashley Ellerby
With over 21 years as an educator, Ashley has more than 10 years’ experience as a senior leader, mostly in schools in challenging circumstances. He has worked for several large and small trusts across the country implementing bespoke attendance and behaviour policies and training staff to consistently apply them. He has helped schools improve their attendance from well below, to well above the national average and was most recently a senior member of a leadership team which took a school from Special Measures to Good within an 18-month period.

Matthew Chamberlain
Matthew has over 20 years experience in education, including 13 years as a subject leader achieving progress scores in the top 5% when compared nationally. For the past two years, Matthew worked across nine schools within a Trust to develop the curriculum, quality assure all aspects of department life and design and implement plans to improve teaching and learning. With an established track record of developing highly effective subject leaders, Matthew supports our subject leaders and helps to develop an inspiring curriculum.

Kieran Hawketts
Kieran joined South Wigston High School from Babington Academy, also a part of Learning without Limits Academy Trust. Kieran has a breadth of experience within pastoral middle and senior leadership, with a proven track record of improving attendance and behaviour for learning. Kieran also brings valuable experience leading vocational education and developing a broad and engaging extra-curricular offer at Babington Academy. Kieran maintains strong links with colleagues at Babington Academy, and SWHS benefits from this highly collaborative partnership.

Osiur Rahman
With over 20 years experience as a leader in education, Osiur has been a principal, school improvement partner and education advisor in a range of settings in the UK and overseas. Osiur is a Chair of Governors for a primary school, a Trust Board Member, and Board Director for an independent school. As an experienced inspector, Osiur brings a wealth of quality assurance and school improvement expertise to South Wigston High School. Osiur is passionate about effective provision for pupils with SEND and continues to work with external partners in this field.

Chloe SandersAssistant Principal - Implementation
Chloe Sanders
Chloe has 17 years experiences as a leader in education, with a focus on driving progress for disadvantaged groups of pupils. Chloe provides training for schools and trusts across the country. She has presented at ResearchEd, National Headteacher conferences and has worked with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER). Chloe is a coach on the Exemplary Leadership Programme and as Director of the Teacher Training Hub, has coached and supported leaders to drive rapid change in hundreds of schools across the country.
